Mardi Gras Trip Report

Sorry its taken this long to get to it. Actually kind of forgot about it.

We left our home in Louisiana on Wednesday before Mardi Gras at around 6:45pm. We decided before hand to drive to Gainesville, FL and spend the night. So off we went and drove through 3 states worth of rain. So the 1st 4 hours of were horrible. Finally we got to Gainesville and spent the night at the Holiday Inn express. (I didn't feel any smarter the next morning)

Day 1 - Magic Kingdom

We headed to Magic Kingdom after checking in to Caribbean Beach Resort, Pirate room.

We had lunch reservations at Crystal Palace. After eating it was off to Tomorrowland. Our group went get fastpasses for Space Mountain and while while waiting we caught Monster's Inc and TTA.

While our group was doing these things my wife brought our DS to The Pirate League. Something he has looked forward to for a year.

After hanging out for a little longer in Tomorrowland we ventured out towards Fantasyland to look at the new additions. (Sorry no photos) After hanign out back there it was getting time to call it a night for me and DS, 4, so we headed back to the room.

Day 2 - Epcot

The weather started out a little yucky so we stayed under cover for most of the morning and did the indoor things like Innoventions, if you haven't been there recently you can create your own video game and its pretty cool. YOu email it to yourself and can play it from your computer at home. After killing some time in there it was time for our lunch reservations at Coral Reef, my favorite restaurant at Disney.

We stopped a favorite spot in Epcot.

After lunch we headed to The Land and did Soarin' and Living on the Land. By this time the weather had started to get better and off to the World we went.

First we caught a couple songs from Off Kilter.

Then we caught my wife's favorite part of the park, Morroco.

By this time it was time for my second favorite food at the parks, turkey legs.

Then its was getting late so we decided to take advantage of the extra hours and rode a couple things with no wait.

Then it was of to bed for the night.

I love the pirate league I took my daughters there this past September and we all liked it better than bjj that pirate room looks great I'll have to try it out sometime

The only down fall of the pirate rooms are the distance from the food court and shops. Its a good 10 minute walk or so to get there.

Day 3 - Animal Kindom

We started the day a little late because we decided to sleep in a little. The park wasn't to busy so I headed to EE for some fastpasses and the rest of the group went to IT's Tough to be a Bug, but before they could get in they shut it down for technical repairs. We had never seen Nemo and friends so we went to see the show. I can say I was very pleased with it. After that we stopped for some pizza. We decided to see how long the wait was for EE and headed back that way. The single rider line was short so a couple of us got in line since we had time to kill before our fastpass time was up.

This was going to be a special EE ride for us because this was my 4 yr olds first roller coaster ride.

Said he loved it after the ride but I could tell he was scared to death. We visited a couple shops then hit KS before they shut it down for the day. Animals were out and active so it was a good ride.

After that we hit dinoland. We hit a couple rides there then went to Dinosaur, with 0 wait time. Actually when we got off the ride only 2 people were getting on behind us. It was very surprising. Then it was off to our dinner reservations at Rain Forest Cafe. Went back to the room and caught some of the Budweiser Shootout then headed to Downtown for some shopping.

After that we called it a night.

Day 4 - Magic Kingdom

We headed to our breakfast reservations first at 'Ohana at the Polynesian.

Then it was off to the park.

We had an extra day for a park so we decided to make it MK because it had the extra magic hours that night. Again we headed straight to Tomorrowland for Buzz Lightyear and TTA.

The weather got a little nasty so we headed to CoP to escape the weather for a little while. After that we spent some time dancing with Stitch, Chip and Dale at Club 626. Then we hit Space Mountain and then the arcade.
Then it was time for some rest and the end of the golf tournament.

After resting for a couple hours it was back to MK for the rest of the night and early morning.

He had to take a picture here everytime we passed.

We got there in time to get a good spot for the parade and have dinner at Casey's. After catching the parade we were off to get some rides in with DS.

We rode as much as we could till around 1 or so then DS fell asleep so it was time to head back.
