Did he not give any other stipulation?

I've heard that 10 to 15 minutes of sun on BARE SKIN is all you need to get your daily vitamin D requirements. Past that, use your sunscreen.
I was para-phrasing.
She was told to go out with sunscreen and all the other precautions.
She's the ultra-paranoid type, she always wears long sleeves (even while swimming).

A group of 4 of us were there March 1-8 and we all got some sun - we are from MN. Spent one morning at the pool otherwise the rest of the time we were in the parks so the tan is from walking around. When you get back to work people are jealous - they ask where you got the tan from. We did not 'fake'n bake' before we left either and we were fine. Used some suntan lotion on a few days.

We have headed down during our March Break (usually second week in March) 2 times the last 3 years and we all got pretty sun burned. I rarely get sun burned up here in the summer; usually tan right away. And being a golfer, I am out in the sun quite a bit. But you are way closer to the sun down there and it only took a couple of hours at Typhoon Lagoon to turn us all into lobsters 2 years ago. Really uncomfortable drive home too (22 hours straight in a van where we all had sun stroke - yikes!)
