March Cheer Competitions

So I found out that according to the UCA website, our competition on the weekend of March 12-13 has us performing at DHS. Does anyone know where they would have teams performing at that park? One of the coaches said Indy, is that even possible?

yep, that's where they put them. it sucks as a parent watching and for the cheerleaders and dancers sweltering in the arena but they compete between that venue and the milkhouse at wide world of sports. they sometimes have practice times on friday but for the most part it's just the one saturday and sunday. when the allstars are there for worlds it's the end of april and the cheerleaders are all at wide world of sports and the dancers are at epcot.

Yeah, my daughters group is a Small Senior Level 1 so we're at DHS. Wow, I don't see how they are going to fit that many teams in there. Of course I know it's not as big as Cheersport was this last weekend in Atlanta. I think there were like 930 teams at that one. Worst traffic I have ever seen.

I'm hoping that we go on kind of early so we can roam the parks. Plus we're staying for the following week, although I'm not looking forward to the crowds.

Oh, and do you have any idea how they do admission? The coaches haven't told us yet and we're very strict planners so we're trying to figure out if we have to pay some kind of admission or if it's included in our trip fees. Thanks!

lol i feel your pain. my daughter did allstars with florida elite for 11 years, finally aging out two seasons ago. she was small senior coed 5 and semi limited coed 5 so we always missed most park activities whenever we did a venue like this because they always went on last. when we did worlds it just took up all day so we didn't do anything else. senior level 1 usually goes earlier in the day like noon-early afternoon so you may have some time to do the park (unless of course your coach calls extra practice before day 2). for years i did registrations for our teams. some competitions and/or some coaches for that matter have either group ticket sales in advance (around the time the teams are registered), others leave it to the parents to do on their own. here's two links that may help you get your info in case your coaches are the type to put things off until the last minute. UCA usually provides express shuttles for the teams, coaches and families between dhs and wide world of sports so team members can support other teams in their gym.

the website has levels 1 and 2 competing sat and sun at dhs so you'd be in the indiana jones arena and they have levels 3-6 at wide world of sports, which means probably in the milk house.

good luck to all your teams.

Yeah, Cheersport was ugly. We could have used a monorail to go from the performance hall to the awards hall.

I'm hoping we'll perform early so we can check out the parks. So far they don't have the performance schedule up yet, at least not for All Star cheer. I just can't imagine cheering at the Indy building, should be interesting.
