Hi guys, just wondering if anyone has experienced first hand the crowd levels in March and April? I've convinced my mum to come with me back to WDW as i was there in Dec 07 for my honeymoon... the hubby doesnt travel well.. and the next choice is my mum and she is always a yes.... so crowd levels March and April... any suggestions? also what are the School Holiday times?

If you want lower crowds during those two months during 2009, I would choose either the first week of March or the last week of April.

Spring Break crowds pick up after the first week of March. Crowds will stay a little heavy the rest of the month and into early April.....not as bad as summer and holidays, but pretty heavy. It will get REALLY crowded during the days leading up to Easter (which is April 12 next year), and stay that way for about a week and a half after Easter Sunday. Then the crowds get lower again.

I went the first week of March and the last week and they were both not too bad. The closest to the first week has better crowd levels, or at least that is what I experienced at EPCOT this past year. Oh and MK - I went to EPCOT and MK both on 3/4 and rode nearly everything with minimal wait times.

The week prior to and after Easter are two the busiest weeks of the year after Winter Holiday weeks. Easter sunday, the parks reach capacity by 1-2 pm and the place is a madhouse. I would not recommend going during those 2 - 2 1/2 week period around Easter.

We are going next March from the 14th to the 24th and I fully expect it will be busy. Our Spring Break, or March Break as we call it up here in Canada, falls in the middle of March every year and WDW is swamped with us Canadians. My first trip was during March Break 2005 and then again in 2007. I, personally, don't mind the crowds and just utilize the FastPass option whenever I can.

We went the second week of March this year, and had, in my opinion, very light crowds. The year before we went the 3rd week in March and it was as crowded as summer.

I've never been in March but I have my first trip during that month planned for March 15-21!! I'm so excited.

What about the week of April 17 - 23? How do you think the crowd levels will be then? We bookd our trip for then, thinking the spring breakers would be over, and the kids would be back in school, getting ready for the summer break. Thanks for the input in advance.

Since Easter is April 12, most of your trip is still probably going to be very crowded. The crowd prediction calendar on touringplans.com still has crowd levels at 10 (the highest) through April 19, followed by two days with a ranking of 9, then it drops to 6's.

But, you never know. With the economy the way it is and the high gas prices, alot of people are re-thinking their vacation plans. So maybe you will get lucky and that week will not be as bad as it has been in past years.:shrug: But still....the week and a half after Easter is the busiest time of year at WDW along with the weeks before and after Christmas.

Oh well. Thank you very much for the information. DH and I really appreciate the quick response. We'll just have to take the crowds as they come, I guess, and just take our time and have fun.
