Marathon

I'm going to WDW during the Marathon...I was looking for information about what happens during this. Do the runners go through specfic parks or just around the Disney complex...help please from those of you who may have experienced it before. (By the way, I am not interested in information about being in the Marathon. I have no running ability whatsoever! :lol: )

The marathon goes all over the world! This year, the half marathon is on Saturday and the full one is on Sunday. They both start and end at EPCOT and go all over the property. Yes, this means they both run through all four parks and all parts between.

They both start at 6 AM on their respective days and the full one is usually finished by 2 in the afternoon, the half is complete by noon or earlier.

Traffic throughout the resort can get crazy on marathon day. Lanes are blocked for runners as well as paths in the parks. To my knowledge, attractions are not closed due to the runners, at least not in the past two years.

Your information is not 100% correct. The half marathon only goes between EPCOT and MK and then back to EPCOT.
The marathon goes between all four parks, starting and ending in EPCOT.

As Blue_Dragon stated, the 1/2 marathon only goes through MK and Epcot, and should be over prior to noon.
There is a 3.5 hour time limit, so I would expect it complete between 9-10am(starting @ 6am), and even then only effecting Epcot that late. Everyone should be through MK by 8am, before the park is even open. I'm running the 1/2 and going to Epcot Sunday(during the Marathon) and don't expect it to affect our day too much.
