At least we're seeing some fan-favorite locations, but the ride experience still leaves much to be desired. I love Star Wars and loved every moment of the attraction until we took off. My brother and I were the pilots and we couldn't figure it out. It wasn't fun. I actually enjoyed being in the back more.

The gameplay leaves a lot to be desired but the moment when you get to “punch it!” Is euphoria inducing.

Exactly how is randomly slapping buttons and moving levers an enjoyable experience ? Its a hard skip for us after riding it for its first two years of operation. Its even a worse experience if your pod has people without a firm grip of English in it.

wondering how much they will change and how connected to the movie it will be with it coming out the same day as the movie.

Like, I am not aware of any connection b/w Hondo and The Mandalorian - so will he be changed out for a different character or will be in the new movie?

I am very glad they are adding a new mission but hope it isn't just basically the same thing but Grogu is there for some reason

Hondo & Mando haven’t met in canon but could hypothetically be around at the same time.

I almost rather they slightly rehaul this ride to have more precise controls and make it more fun for the other non-pilot seats. Having the actual Millennium Falcon turret gunners would bring some much needed life to this attraction.

Glad it has an additional story, but unclear if this new mission will be the only one guests can experience. This ride is a people eater and should have multiple missions to experience.

Yeah that’s what I’m wondering. Are they getting rid of the old one or are they going to have 2?

Supposedly part of this update is to make the engineering role more exciting /in demand as that is the position that will have some interaction with Grogu

Not saying that alone fixes everything but at least they realize there is an issue with inequity of the roles

Another addition tied to the film is Otto, an Anzellan droid mechanic seen in The Rise of Skywalker and the latest season of The Mandalorian. Otto will have a role in maintaining the BDX droids as they expand to new parks.

Jon Favreau announced Mando and Grogu will debut on Smugglers Run on May 22, 2026 - here's new concept art:

I'm a little confused. So far all of the language surrounding this update seems to indicate one new "mission" involving Mando and Grogu, but this concept art shows 3 different locations. Does this one new "mission" have random variation on the ride sequence to take you to one of these 3 locations like Star Tours? Or is it going to be one distinct ride sequence that takes riders to all of these locations per cycle? Sounds like it might be a pacing nightmare. And does this mean the current Corellia mission is being retired permanently?

We don't know but I agree if you got to all it would feel off pacing wise as not enough time for the "game" part at any location and if you just zip from one to the other it would feel like Star Tours

Would be cool if there are multiple missions (even if they don't keep the current one but have 3 different possible locations/mission for new missions) - would increase reride ability

I enjoy the ride more than many here but the mission is getting old and I only don't like Max once a year ... Adding some variability would definitely help
