I wasn't lying lol

"Hawley Webb of New Port Ritchie was riding Dueling Dragons at Universal's Islands of Adventure when his prosthetic leg somehow slipped off. The park believes the leg fell in a pond underneath the ride but divers have not been able to locate. The park said that it will replace the leg if the original cannot be found. "

I saw this story, too. He said that he really thought that they should have a sign warning people of the risk. We were just at Silver Dollar City in Branson, MO and they DO have signs warning people not to ride certain rides if they have prosthetics. It was the first time I'd ever seen a warning like that at an amusement park. Wonder how long it will take Universal to put up the signs!

Thank goodness it wasn't anything too serious like the ride actually amputating someone's leg off! I would think common sense in some cases would suggest that since your legs are dangling out of the cars that if you have anything loose from your thighs down they could come off, including wallets in lower pants pockets, loose shoes or sandals, and, in this case, prosthetic legs.

Its nice to see Universal willing to buy this fellow a new prosthetic leg though.

I have two thoughts.

1. If his leg had hit anyone it could have killed them.

2. Hw sure is he of when it came away. If he was in one of the inverts it could have almost made it to Datonna. :animwink:

After 20 years of working in the restaurant business, I can tell you without a doubt that common sense is in VERY short supply. People simply can't be bothered to actually THINK about what they're doing.

Cheers
