Dont get me wrong, I love meatloaf and mashed potatoes with green beans, and I wish my kids would too. But Mama Melrose has a much better menu than 50's. More extensive, from a great grilled pork chop to simple flat breads. Seafood dishes, alfredos, and everything there can be altered as it is cooked to order on a line, unlike 50's. Fresher is better.
Totally agree, Mama's is a far more extensive and better menu for adults. Kids menu-wise, I think the two are pretty comparable. Mama's 4 options (grilled fish, spaghetti, chicken parm, and pizza) and 50's 5 options (meatloaf, chicken nuggets, hot dog, mac and cheese, and grilled chicken) are both less than stellar. One of the reasons I would recommend 50's more after a long day in the parks and a long evening yet to come (OPs plan) with a 4 and 6yr old is the comfort foods that are there for kids - creative, no, but a 4yr old after 9 hours in the park is more likely to go for the comfort foods of 50's unless they are a pizza fan.
