Malestrom Effects

Malestrom used to have many effects that have been lost along the 25 year voyage. Maelstrom was built with the biggest fog machine system ever. The fog used to be applied to the troll area and the tunnel where you go backwards. Wave machines were used in the sea scene toward the end of the ride that made intense splashes adding to the overall atmosphere. A lighting effect using a rod was also used giving the strike of a lifelike lightning strike. All of these above have been lost or turned off over the years, and it is sad that these can not be put into action once again. These add to the atmosphere and overall experience of the attraction.

Have you seen any of these effects working lately?
What do you think about the loss of them, and would you like to see them again?

These are kinda being discussed over in the Norway turns 25 thread, but no those effects have long been gone. Sure would love to see them again, but doesnt look like it will happen. Seen the waterfall running outside anymore either? Nope they cant even fix that. I worry its going to become the next big planter.

Its so sad that they cant maintain this ride as it should be.

Also remember the one effect that is planned, built but never turned on.
After the polar bears and you hear the sea sounds, the boat is suppose to wiggle for a while while in motion. They have the hardware there, if you look after it you can see that there should might be something happening here. But the software never worked out...

We rode Maelstrom for the first time last October and I have to be honest that I thought it was ho-hum...now I see why!!! So sad..."but we have some lovely DVC properties for you to buy into though!!!!"

Maelstrom needs help. The video is old, no one likes it, the ride isn't a novelty anymore...just help it! Shut down the movie and expand the ride!
