THe first image from the set of Maleficient posted today...and Angelina Jolie looks the part to a tee..IMO. Im really looking forward to this film...Maleficient is an Iconic Disney Character..what do you think

I think Angelina Jolie will rock this role. No offense, but she alone can be very intimidating- like Maleficent.

I just hope the visuals don't come before story like it did for Alice in Wonderland.

This doesn't belong on this forum and is going to get moved, but I think Jolie is going to be phenomenal.

Hopefully this will reignite some interest in the villains at the parks.

Hopefully the movie will be great. She fits the part perfectly! Hope they start bringing Malificient out more for meets in the parks. We only had one oppertunity for my daughter to get a photo with her at MNSSHP in 2009.

I'm actually pleased Burton dropped out. There was not one iota of storytelling in his Wonderland. It was all visuals.

No trailer yet. They're only in pre-production. The release date is not until March of 2014! It's going to be at LEAST another year before even a teaser trailer surfaces.

Anyways, I am really looking forward to this film. Sleeping Beauty is one of my favourite movies, and Maleficent has to the greatest villain of them all! Angelina really looks the part and I've got high hopes for this being a great movie!​

Yes, because Angelina doesn't make bad movies. Ooops, that's not right. She almost exclusively makes bad movies which she sometimes manages to carry off with her combination of other worldly beauty, talent and raw star power.

Jolie's involvement is not a guarantee of quality.

While I agree with you about Burton's Wonderland, he's a known quantity. You can expect quirkiness and visuals from a Burton film. Sometimes there's enough story to carry you through. Often, there isn't. I still find him an interesting film-maker. Even his failures usually have redeeming value.

It's possible this new guy is an up and comer. I suspect he was just a cheap hire.

I wonder how much of an origins story this will be? Will it tie into the Disney movie or the books more? Or will it make up a few things like Wicked? Hmmm.. we'll have to wait and see.

The lack of green makeup thus far makes me wonder if, since this film focuses on her backstory, the green face is not something Maleficent was born with, but rather attained (for better or worse) at some point in her life. Perhaps the film will explain exactly how she became "green."
