I remeber on a visit a couple of years ago that me and my parents burnt our own CD in a shop in Epcot, but on our last visit we couldn't find this anywhere :hammer: Did we just not look hard enough or did they actually stop doing this  If so why  :king:

That was the Walt Disney World Forever CD Kiosks. (Visit this site for a listing of what was available.) Unfortunately, Disney removed the kiosks a few years ago. One website says:

"So why did Disney close the kiosks? My sources have different — and surprisingly conflicting — explanations of 'what really happened,' but most agree that the age of the kiosks, Disney's unwillingness to upgrade to new hardware, and development of a competing system from Walt Disney Records all played a part."

I guess, it's the latter reason because a revamped system was implemented at Disneyland a year ago with vintage attraction soundtracks and lots of out of print Disney CDs.

I've heard rumors that a similar system will come to Walt Disney World but only time will tell. :)

I would love to see a version of the reimplimented CD kiosks at Disneyland in Florida. I'm all about vintage attraction soundtracks and stuff like that.

And I bet you are more than willing to pay for it, as well - as many of us are.

Disney is missing out on a gold-mine, because people turn to downloading this stuff not because they want it "free" but because it's unavailable elsewhere.

I wonder what the hold up is - I hear great things about the Disneyland CD system and would be spending more money on CDs than pins on my next trip if they'd have them at WDW.

Exactly! Al Lutz did a very interesting article about this, and how Disney has had things in development but never released them. People need to obtain them in other ways and then Disney gets upset and needs to search for these people because they are getting them in ways they shouldn't be. Disney should realize that people would pay a lot to get rare tracks and park audio. Why keep themselves away from that money.

I am definitely one who would pay for one of those cd kiosks like in CA. Every time I visit WDW I go straight to the cds hoping that I can find a new one (I currently have everyone of the park music cds being sold, except the newest official album because it wasn't out yet in July. I'll have it come November). I have turned to downloading and making my own cd's because that's the only way I can get the music that I know and love! Disneyland will be getting a lot of money from me next year when I go there and that cd shop will be my favorite place!
