As expected Michael O'Gratten was named the new Senior Vice President of Operations at Disneyland. This position was previously vacated by Greg Emmer.
Michael was an amazing leader, friend, and hands on vice president, who I frequently saw and talked with in my time at the Studios.
Replacing him is Rilious Carter, formerly the General Manager of Food and Beverage at Epcot.
The more shocking surprise was the sudden departure of Jan-Erik Reddrup, the General Manager of Operations and Attractions. I have personally conversed with Jan-Erik many times and he was responsible for approving my "pre-film warning spiel" at OMD during my college program. He is a great manager and will be missed. I can only assume he will be following Michael to Disneyland, but my source (Studio News 95) declined to say.
Taking over for Jan-Erik will be Ray Wallace, General Manager of Water Parks for five years.
It's sad that they are leaving. The studios family will miss their leadership, BUT Disneyland is getting a great leader and I couldn't have picked anyone better to succeed Greg Emmer.
