After double-checking, yes that picture IS Disneyland.

BUT....both Main Streets had a cigar shop with the same Indian Chief out front. At WDW he's now in front of Pecos Bill's/Country Bears, while at DL he's in front of the Frontierland Trading Post.

Yes, I know. I just didn't want Jenn to use the Disneyland photo for her WDW site.

For awhile it was the VMK shop. It was the spot you went to turn in your little game sheets etc. to get cards with codes for in-game stuff. You could also play the game on little kiosks in there. Behind the counter and kiosks was the same screen that's there today. It also showed cartoons in but if I remember right often it was showing in-game stuff instead.

Main Street Cinema 10/71 - 3/98
Silent Films 10/71 - 78?
(Dr Jekyll & Mr Hyde, Great Train Robbery, The Rounders, Crashing Thru, Steamboat Willie)

Mickey Cartoons 1978? - 94
(Steamboat Willie, Plane Crazy, The Dognapper, Traffic Trouble, The Moose Hunt & Mickeys Polo Team)

Mickeys Big Break 1994 - 98

Main Street Cinema Store 3/98 - ?/05

Virtual Magic Kingdom Central ?/05 - 9/07

Art of Disney 11/07-
:)

Actually... the Indian is still on Main Street at WDW. I did a little poking around and, with some help, happened to notice in a trip report that just got posted a picture of Main Street and sure enough he's standing right on the corner. He may have moved at one time but he's back now! The case of the moving Indian! Hmmm... makes for an interesting page for the site! LOL!

lol. They must have just done it...I remember him still in Frontierland back in May-June 2011.

Either that, or our fiberglass friend is inhabited by a noble Native American protector-spirit. ;)

There are actually TWO. One on Main Street and one in Frontierland. Love is half Native (Blackfeet) and he's taken his picture with them both as a joke. (His other half is Irish and that's what he looks like 100% which is part of the humor.)

I will be in WDW next week I will check where he is. Probably some CM is reading this and will move it and then move it back when I leave
Your mission, should you chose to accept it... get a photo with each Indian to prove once and for all that WDW is lucky enough to have two! LOL!

We are heading over next Saturday (the 18th) for the day, so if no one posts pics by then, I'll try to get some photos as well.

Here is a photo what I believe is the former Center Street:

And here is a nice Yesterland article on the Center Streets of WDW/Disneyland, with the last portion talking about WDW's and its removal.
Thanks so much! I knew I wasn't losing it... and...

I've now officially placed this photo from my grandmother's collection, taken in 1976! Am I right? Is this also Center Street?

So they changed it in 2001? So weird because I just don't remember the center street at all. And I've been going to WDW since 1984. (Being a local, I've been more times than I can count.) The pics just never look familiar at all which is so so weird.
