You know the telephones you can listen into on Main Street? Where are they exactly? I've tried looking online and every website seems to have a different answer.

Thanks in advance for your help :)

I'm happy that Disney's keeping the little added surprises in the park. Not many guests seek them out or even know they are there. They are too buzy rushing to the next FP+.

Yes
The Emporium used to have one on the wall some years ago....have not looked for it recently, but it may well still be there and active.

Isn't there a sort of "payphone of the future" to the right of the incline/entrance that takes you up to TTA? I can't recall exactly but seem to remember checking it out when I was there last February.

Yep, or at least there was from what I remember too. I remember picking that up once and listening, I can't remember to what. I love those little details though.

I have known about this but always forget to check it out when I'm there. Love these little touches in the parks..I just wish they still had the phones in Epcots Uk still up. Two years ago I was pranked really well. My girlfriend went to the bathroom and when I told her what happened, she thought I was crazy and joking around when I told her it rang.

I picked up and someone asked me how I was and what I was doing. Now, I was all confused and just went along and he asked what kind of camera I'm using and how his camera only has 1 mega pixel. He really went into character who ever it was, I always thought it was a CM until I looked into it and found out anyone in the world could call these phone booths..what a shame. I can only imagine why they stopped them from working.

Just got back from a 4-day visit. Never enough time...

Regarding my earlier post about the "telephone of the future", here are the Metrophone telephone booth and the Robo Newz newsstand, both located under the Astro Orbiter platform. In the phone booth you dial any number and get one of I think three ads for services such as "Galactic Realty Company" selling real estate on Mars or one of Jupiter's moons or somewhere like that (can't recall exactly). Corny humor, typical of Disney, but fun to hear.

In the newsstand there's an upside-down typewriter (see inside the robot's chest area) that is supposedly set up to print you a paper copy of the most up-to-the-minute news (woah, futuristic!). The printed copies you can see in the box have headlines describing an alien named Stitch making an escape (so you can imagine how long those have been in there!).

It's nice that they've kept these in Tomorrowland so that today's children can see what typewriters and pay phones looked like. ;)

Disney, don't take these away, but please DO upgrade the speaker quality in the phone booth.

I was DEVISTATED when I couldn’t call into the payphones at UK and Canada anymore. I even had them programed into my phone and would call them randomly to ask people how their holiday was going.

That's so cool! I wish I had known to do that years ago. Sadly I guess (with the ease of the Google) some jerks found the numbers and, well, acted like jerks, or worse. How fun it must have been to talk to people in Epcot and ask about their vacation.

No, it's not sad that you still have them!
