Main Street Piano Player

One of our favourite things to do when visiting the Magic Kingdom, is to sit and listen to the Main Street Piano players over at Casey's Corner.

Does anyone have any information about them? Do they work anywhere else when not performing etc??

There is one guy who has glasses, he is really friendly and always speaks to us, and always asks if we have any requests.

I remember asking him to play "There's a great big beautiful tomorrow" and he did - at the speed of sound!

Any info would be great, thanks!

Check in with Guest Services when you walk in to the Magic Kingdom. It is on your left hand side before the restrooms and the firehouse. They can give you a listing of times as to when the piano players will be out and about. It can also be found online at our friend Steve Soares' website:

He has got listings for all of the WDW entertainment performers. The schedule does change weekly and he does update it, but make sure you grab a times guide or check with Guest Services when you get to the parks to make sure you have the most up to date information as every schedule is subject to change. Better Yet ... take the experience home with you!

Purchase "Ragtime at the Magical Kingdoms"
Yeah, I got that a few years ago - I bought it thinking that it was the guy in the glasses :hammer: :brick:

Thanks for the info everyone, it must be "Jim" that I was talking about - He is a real nice guy and always looks pleased when people take the time to speak to him. I seem to remember a few years ago that he said that he had worked there for more than 20 years (??).

Jim is a wonderful guy, I remember reading an interview about him in "Eyes and Ears" (The company newsletter for CM's). He said he knows like hundreds of songs by heart, and he loves playing on Main St. outside of Casey's.

I was so impressed by him when I saw him playing. I tried to get a nice pic from behind so that you see his reflection in the piano mirror while he played, but he ended the song and turned around and bowed to me right as I took the pic. But it turned out cute, because it shows her personality perfectly. He's amazing.

Jim is fantastic. He has been there as long as I can remember. We always stop by and watch him and he always plays the Tennessee Waltz for us. And EVERY SINGLE TIME he throws "Rocky Top" right in the middle. I'm sure he doesn't remember our group, but he usually seems to notice one of us wearing some Tennessee clothes and plays the tune the same way. True Disney magic.
