Effective Tuesday, April 20 the Main Street Gallery will be relocated to King's Gallery in Fantasyland. The last day of business for the Main Street Gallery will be April 17.

Grizz is there any news on what will go into that space when the gallery relocates? Please not another DVC site. I am a member and still don't think we need any more of them.

Just to be sure, is King's Gallery the store that is inside the castle? If so, will the stuff from the Main Street Gallery just be put in a small area of the exisiting store, or is the entire store being re-done to host the same stuff as the Main Street one? Considering most of the collectible pieces are centered around Disney animation, moving it here sounds good.

Even though that would be a really great location, I am going to miss it at Main Street, very nostalgic for me.

At least they're not closing it for good! :animwink:

What is going to fill that space on Main Street? I agree with JTFerret... no more DVC sites!! (I am a member as well, and I also think that there are way too many in the parks)

I hope the Gallery's former space will not just become yet another depository of cookie-cutter Disney logo merchandise... nor a DVC information center.. Alas, I feel that one of these however will be the replacement... :(

How about Donald's House of Turkey Legs? Serving all the turkey legs, churros, and Dole Whips you can eat...heaven on earth to me! :slurp: :slurp:   :lookaroun :lookaroun

That's inter-class cannibalism!

(using scientific classification, with the class being Aves, or "birds"... )

I know...that's why I picked Donald, for the sheer contradiction it offered. However if it makes you feel more comfortable, how about Pumbaa's House of Turkey Legs? ;)

Well actually, 43% of the respondants gave the Main Street Gallery a vote of no confidence so Disney decided that it should be split into two entities. :lookaroun

What and where was the Main Street Gallery (I'm looking for more specific than "It's on Main Street," please). Granted, I haven't been to the park in almost a decade, but none of my old guide maps include this store. I'm not sure what the fuss is, then.

I actually think this is good news! Nobody really ever knew it was there; it was kinda like a hidden gem. Now it'll be in a great location!!

Yer it will be in a good location, but wont the Kings Gallery just become even more crowded:confused: I always thought that store was too crowded in the first place:king:

Yeah, I didn't think about that. Hmmm. On the other hand, the Gallery is more of a place *most* of us go to browse, not buy. It won't be filled with long lines of shoppers, it'll be a relaxing place to stop in for a few minutes....?

I'm not sure what to think about this. I love the Gallery and will miss it's presence on Main Street. As a former Main Street CM I am sad to see Main Street USA losing all of it's charming specialty stores in favor of generic stores...It all started when they ripped out center street for more shelf space at the Emporium. What a sad day that was....:(
