Right Folks an awful lot of threads at the moment about MSEP Vs Spectro!

So which is your favourite?

Also thrown in a small curveball, ie; Fantillusion!

Disneyland Paris current Night Parade which features parade stops anf Floats changing appearance, amazing parade and a worthy rival to both these iconic parades :wave:

Damnit! That was exactly the poll I wanted to start. Grrrrr... :)

I am undecided. It they would have brought back the original MSEP I would definitely have voted for it but it is an altered version. I really liked Spectromagic but the nostalgia with the MSEP; although it is not the same one I knew as a kid, is stronger. MSEP.

If your voting for it because of the original no prob, Fantillusion! even though i love it is a shadow of what it was compared to now

I don't know Fantillusion yet. My first and so far last trip to DLP was in 1997 and we left before the parades in the evening. Perhaps we will go there next spring if we cannot afford a trip to the real World.

The soundtrack is different, and there are many newer floats; other older floats were dropped, including the Blue Fairy from Pinnochio, who led the parade for decades from day one until the last few years.

But if you really mean the 1972 original, those floats were flat, not three-dimensional, and they played a much more crude audio mix, including the original recording of "Baroque Hoedown" from a 1968 Lp. However, most are more familiar with the 1977 makeover.

What! You mean the changed the song? I don't believe it, that is what i was looking forward to.

What they SHOULD do is what TDL did with ELP - Dreamlights, and put in a new symphonic score, same song and sounds, but symphonic, just amazing. if you have never heard it, lemme know and ill send u a bite of it

I grew up with MSEP, will always hold a special place in my heart. I felt about 5 again when I saw it last week.

I do like Spectro, but my inner child loves MSEP.

The main number, "Baroque Hoedown", is still there. Same tune. New, bland recording. Too "cutesy" for me. Doesn't have the energy and unique sound of the original (well, the 1977 remix I should say).

I voted Spectro, but with the condition that the Spectromen have their masks back. They are way too creepy without them. They need the smiling, glowing masks, and the giggling sound clips when they spin around. :)

There were 30 floats in tokyo and dlp bought 13 of them, and one was dropped at a later date, so its only 40% of the original!!

I still love it and the music :wave:

wow, i knew they skimped on them, but didnt realize it was that much.....one word...Dreamlights...Do it right and it can run for a good 15 years for them
