We are going to disney may 22nd- June 3rd it will be myself wife and two kids ages 9 and 2 1/2. I have read a lot about people mailing boxes of supplies to there resort about a week prior to arrival, has anyone done this or heard of this? We are flying on southwest it will be our dd2's first flight we were thinking if we could ship diapers wipes, snacks, a few bottled waters, our shampoos and soaps a few clothes just in case our luggage would get lost it would make everything more manageable with weight in our suitcases and less to have to carry. I was going to mail out 2 boxes to bay lake our dvc home about 10 days prior with ups that way I can call and make sure it arrives before we leave any suggestions or advice? thank you

I have shipped personal items to resort before. In particular our Halloween costumes for the party-they were really bulky. Just address it to yourself and your resort name and check in date on the shipping label. I included my reservation number but not sure you need to.
At check in I informed them, and they immediately found my box. I was also able to ship it back home right from the resort. Easy as can be.
You have to decide what is best for you. Shipping heavy items is probably more expensive than paying garden grocer or strollers and groceries a delivery fee. Also, the further you ship it, the more it costs. I would guess how heavy your package is and how far and check with a shipping service for the cost. Then I would compare to the $12 delivery fee for delivery. Unless you also need a stroller, then with rental of a stroller at strollers and groceries, delivery is free. ( how to complicate matters, huh?)

If you're planning on shipping personal items, be sure to put the hotel you're staying at, reservation number, name and dates of stay on the box. As someone who received those packages...those that don't get delivered on time are because the name on the package couldn't be matched to the reservation. Also ship it farther in advance you would to send a package to say a friend. Because of the volume of packages to WDW, they generally take a few days longer to arrive.

If you're planning on shipping non-personal items, I'd definitely go with garden grocer. They're wonderful!
