Magicbands for offsite guests?

Hi all,

This will be our families first ever time to disneyworld in florida and had a question about the magicband.
We are going in September 2013 and we are staying in a private villa off site. What I'm asking is, if we are staying off site, can we get/purchase Magicbands, and if we can, could we link them to our park tickets that we purchase off somewhere like Attraction tickets direct, or somewhere similar, if you have a my disney experience account, and then could you use these bands for fasspass and also for the photopass+?
Thanks for the replies.

I agree, onsite guests will have access to MM+ throughout 2014.

The question is how long the testing phase will run.

I have information suggesting testing will continue until at least March.
Yes, that is the question. March is not a question, that is stated on the agents site - but will testing go past then?

Also, you won't *need* to have a MagicBand in order to use FP+. Your RFID park ticket will work for FP+ access, too. (Check the back of the tickets for the MDE logo, a Mickey head inside a circle, that denotes that it's RFID-capable)

One variable that is currently unknown is how far in-advance non-Disney Resort guests will be able to make their FP+ choices, and when that option will be made available to everyone.

They'll continue to call it "testing" as long as they possibly can, so they can handle complaints easier ("Sorry your vacation broke, it's still in testing.")

I believe March is when they'll have all of the resorts switched over to MM+ only, and legacy FP will completely go away.

Are the Swan and Dolphin, Bonnet Creek, and Downtown Disney hotels considered "Offsite"? In other words can you get a Magicband and FP+ when staying at any of these resorts?

My question would be...

We are also staying offsite and have several days of non-expiring admissions left of paper tickets. Our visit is in May of 2014 so by then FastPass+ will be running everywhere. How do I get/exchange our several non-expired days on paper tickets for the plastic RFID tickets needed for FastPass+

We just bought annual passes for Christmas and heading up to DW in a few hours. I was wondering if they will be issuing us paper tickets or will we be getting armbands? I would rather have armbands vs keeping up with tickets. So excited! Kids will be opening their Disney "present" in 2 more hours!!

Log into your My Disney Experience account and go to the area where you link tickets. Find the example that matches the tickets you have, and put in the tickets' serial numbers as directed. If that works, your tickets will then be linked to any Magic Band you associated with your MDE account.

If that doesn't work, you'll have to talk to Guest Relations.

I have a friend (Orlando local which is the same as offsite guest) who renewed an AP on site at WDW yesterday and he said that MagicBand was not offered or available to him. just a new plastic RFID capable admission card like they've been giving out since spring

We renewed our APs a week ago and were given the plastic cards.
