Magicbands and DDP?

Sorry if this has been answered already! I couldn't find anything.

When you have your Magicbands and the DDP, do you just scan your band now? I have never used the Disney Dining Plan and I've obviously never used the Magicbands so how does this work?

In most cases yes. I am not sure if everyplace is set up for it at the moment, but the majority are.

One note...I have heard reports that tipping with the band can be hit or miss so you will want to confirm that the servers get tipped correctly.

As yoda mentioned about tipping. To leave a tip, wait for the receipt and put the amount on it and sign it, just like it used to be. If you just scan, and then leave, the server gets no tip. Or you could leave cash on the table, but Disney and Mickey want you to use your band and not cash.

Yep, tipping with cash for the moment is a good idea, never left wondering.

Here are the steps.
Sitdown style (this also includes bars for adults drinks where you sit at the table).
1. They will bring you the paper check (They may not bring one for DDP) and leave.
2. They will return later with the band/rfid card scanner.
3. You will then enter your pin number and hand the scanner back to them.
4. They will take the scanner and go to the register to get another receipt.
5. They will give you the receipt.
6. If you want to tip them put that amount on the receipt and sign it.
7. Leave restaurant.

Quickserve style.
1. They will have you touch your band/rfid card to the scanner.
Oops my bad. 1a. You will enter your pin.
2. They will give you a receipt.
3. Go to the counter get food.

Adult drinks bar and quickserve.
1. They will swipe a card on the register.
2. They will scan your band/rfid card.
3. You will enter your pin.
4. They will swipe another card at the register.
5. They will bring you a receipt.
6. If you wish to tip, put that amount on the receipt and sign it.
7. Take your drink and enjoy.
