Grand Gatherings?

Grand Gatherings - I know the general principal. Big parties/families/friends - call and Disney will assist you. What I'd like to know is WHAT they do for you exactly - is it easier to plan it yourself? Do they plan special things for you? Does it cost extra? I've seen two threads so far about groups of 19 and 20 people wondering what to do. And I'm just curious....thanks in advance:animwink:

Do you mean Grand Gatherings? Grand Gatherings are for parties of 8 or more who purchase the MYW Package Plus Dining, Premium or Platinum Packages. Your party can meet for exclusive Disney experiences. You can exchange on meal included in the Premium or Platinum Package, or two Table-service meals included in you MYW Package Plus Dining to attend one of the following:

International Dinner and Illuminations Dessert Reception
Safari Celebration Dinner
Good Morning Gathering

These are only offered to parites of eight or more (must be on the same reservation) who purchase one of the MYW packages above.

I have never done one, but a co-worker on mine does one every other year for a family reunion type thing. They really ejoyed the Safari Celebration Dinner!

Um, I think you get pins for everyone in your party to wear that say "Grand Gatherings" and from what I have heard, when you attend the special events its like you are having a private party (just to be clear, everyone who is having a Grand Gathering across WDW property is elegible for these events, so when you show up for your chosen event it will be your party and any other parties who chose that event for that day, so it's not really a PRIVATE private party, you could be there with 60 other people!) But these experiences sounds really cool!

Thanks Tink! Apparently nobody else knows too much about this, so I'll have to call Disney and see what else they have to offer
