You can always get the luggage yourself and take it with you to ME. A lot of people do that anyways.Hi, I booked my magical express ten days out from my departure. I was a little confused and thought I had to wait that long. My question is what do I do if I don't get my luggage tags in time?![]()

I was wondering about that myself. Hopefully, that becomes an option sometime in the near future.Always great advice! We pack light and transport our own bags -- nothing gets broken, stolen, or lost (not that that's a big risk with DME luggage transfer), and we can unpack as soon as we arrive.
It's too bad you can't download and print your own DME luggage tags (like you would, for example, when taking a cruise). I wonder if that will eventually become an option.
Best thing to do would be to call the Magical Express 800 number and check. It does sound odd, as I got my yellow luggage tags about 2-3 weeks before my bands.I have been waiting for yellow tags and am getting concerned. I should get my magic bands tomorrow (per tracking number). I have always gotten my yellow luggage bags well before I get the magic bands.
I called and it was like they didn't check why I haven't gotten the ME packet, they asked for my information and said they would send it.Best thing to do would be to call the Magical Express 800 number and check. It does sound odd, as I got my yellow luggage tags about 2-3 weeks before my bands.
Technically you don't have to have the tags for them to collect and deliver your bags. You can go to the DME check-in counter and describe your bags for them [I used to take a digital photo of each bag and print it off before leaving - speeds up the description process]. They'll send a staff member to collect your bags and they'll still deliver to your resort room.
Probably just as easy to pick them up yourself. Odds are you'll be 20-30 minutes later getting on a bus than if they do it.
If you are able to handle your own bags, then do it and don't rely on Disney to do it for you especially delivering to your room. Unless they have changed the policy they wont take them inside your room unless someone is there and that means you have to waste precious vacation time waiting in your room for them to bring the bags up... Have done it in the past and it was fine they were there within 5 minutes of me getting to my room... but I've also experienced a 2 hour wait which was the last time I ever let them steal any of my vacation time when I can just as easily roll my bag along with me.

I'm sorry, but that is incorrect. They will indeed deliver your *yellow tagged* luggage without you being in the room. This is a benefit specifically mentioned in DME paperwork and even the video on the bus, and has always been the policy.
