Magical Express luggage tags

How many luggage tags come with the Magical Express package? I believe that we are allowed two suitcases per person - I am planning on taking 3 cases for two of us, along with an extra empty duffle packed in one of the cases. The extra duffle is for the sweatshirts, t-shirts, etc. I'm buying for my family for Christmas. I guess my question is, if I check 3 bags on the flight down but want to check 4 for the flight home, will there be a problem? Will I have enough ME tags? Or should I just have everything UPS'd home?

I'm looking at my tags - I have 4 tags per person in our party. I thought at first that there were 2 for the flight down and then 2 for the flight home - but they are all dated the same date (9/26)...the day of our flight down.

The Magic Express booklet that came with the tags says that during checkout of your hotel, you can get your boarding passes and check in your luggage...it doesn't provide any details regarding the number of bags though. I assume it's four also...provided your airline doesn't have a lower number bag restriction.

You will not need the ME tags for the flight home. The tags are there so that your luggage is identified in Orlando as a Disney destination. When you go home, you will be retrieving your own bags, so there would be no need to have ME tags on them.
On certain airlines you are allowed to check in right at your hotel. Those bags will need to have proper identification, just as any bag you check would, but that is not what the ME tag is for.
Hope this helps!

I've been checking and my airline (United) does participate in the in-hotel baggage check for our return flight, so that will be convenient. It does make sense now that I think about it that the ME tags would only be for our arrival - DUH! So I guess my plan of 3 bags down and 4 bags home should be OK. Thanks for all your help.....TTFN!

When do the luggage tags arrive?
I leave Nov. 20. When should I expect the tags to arrive?
Thanks!
I believe that luggage tags along with information will arrive at your house approximately 1 week prior to your departure. We recieved our tags about a month and a half ago (we leave in 3 days).
(an email I recieved from ME):
Your reservation request for Disney's Magical Express Service has been
processed. Within a week prior to arrival, an Airport Transportation
Booklet with special luggage tags will be delivered to the address
provided. Here are a couple of things to keep in mind:

- Pack any valuables and/or medication into a carry-on bag because you
might not have immediate access to your luggage when you arrive in
Orlando.

- Once you arrive at Orlando International Airport, please visit the
Disney's Magical Express Welcome Center located on the A side of the
airport on Level One. (NOTE YOU WILL BE ON SIDE B!) Please keep your Airport Transportation Booklet
handy as you will need to present it at the Welcome Center.

**If you do not receive the booklet prior to departure or you are traveling within the next 10 days,
please locate a Disney's Magical Express representative upon arrival to the Orlando International
Airport, and they will assist you.

These Cast Members will be positioned on Level 2 (Baggage Claim) on side A of the airport. They
will be wearing blue blazers, and will be able to take your claim check numbers and a description of
the luggage. They will claim it for you and have it sent to your resort.

Hope this helps. Have a great trip!

I just looked at my tags. I got 4. Two have my husband's name printed twice and two have his name with my name printed below. That's strange!:lookaroun

I believe that is because the reservations were made under his name. Our tags are like that too except all seven of us in our party have my name on their tags!

Yes, there are 5 in my party and I have 10 tags - 2 each....my name is on all of the tags because the reservation is in my name. I actually thought that I had 4 each but I miscounted. The tags were folded in half and I thought they were preferated at the fold but they weren't. It's actually two long tags and not 4 tags....so there are only two tags each not 4 as I had originally indicated above. My tags were mailed August 15th and my trip is September 26th. So I got mine about a month before....

8 days left!!! It's going to be hard to work this week!!!! :dazzle:

An Disney's Magical Express - Airport Transportation Booklet containing general information, transportation vouchers and 2 luggage tags per person will be mailed approximately 45 days prior to arrival and generally arrive at your home about 7-14 days prior to your check-in date.

Each luggage tag will have the name of the Lead Guest on the room reservation plus the name of Guest the tag is assigned to.

Guests should attach the provided luggage tags prior to leaving home. The tags are used to claim your luggage at the Airport for your arrival only. Tags are not used or needed for your return. If you don't receive the DME booklet in time, not to worry. Simply retain your baggage claim tickets provided by your airline and proceed to the Disney Welcome Center on level one. Disney will claim your luggage for you and provide you with your transportation vouchers.

All domestic airlines have a maximum of 2 pieces of checked luggage per person. You should be fine arriving with 3 pieces and departing with 4 for your party of two Guests.

As long as DME is listed on your printed reservation confirmation, don't worry if you don't get your confirmation e-mail. Due to the use of various spam blockers, this e-mail may be blocked or deleted by your e-mail software.
