Sorry if this isn't the right thread for this, but is 2020 a good year to visit DLP? What's going to be under construction, what will be open, what's the general timeline?

The Studios expansion will open in phases from 2021 to 2025 with nothing noteworthy being new in 2020. Nothing had been officially announced for Disneyland park so that should all be open in 2020, excluding scheduled refurbs.

The Studio closures to make way for the expansion are as follows:
-Armageddon (Closed, being replaced with Spider-Man ride)
-Art of Disney Animation (Closed, being replaced with Animation Celebration, opening November 2019)
-Disney Jr Live (Closed, assumed to reopen as an updated version or Marvel related show)
-Rock n Rollercoaster (Closing September 1st 2019, Aerosmith theme being replaced with Iron Man)
-Studio Tram Tour (Closing 2020, to be relocated and shortened with Catastrophe Canyon rethemed to Pixar's Cars)

The Disney parks presentation at D23 on August 25th hopefully will officially announce lots of new additions to both parks.

I don't think I've seen it mentioned on here yet but there's a pop-up shop in Disney Village for Hard Rock Cafe. Apparently testing the waters to see if there's enough interest in opening a restuarant here...

Fingers crossed it happens, love Hard Rock Cafe. Also a good sign of the Village overhaul finally on its way.

I’d love Hard Rock Cafe to come to Disney though I don’t think this is the best way of judging interest. I don’t see why people would buy souvenirs for a restaurant that isn’t even there?

Could they be surveying anyone who approaches either to make a purchase or to enquire where the Hard Rock Cafe is?

Odd - I was just there this weekend and don’t recall seeing it at all.

Lol they closed several rides, cancelled shows and the parade and swapped out fur characters for face ones and put hoses with holes in all over the parks to wet and cool guests... yeahh can we finally get Splash Mountain now? The park is in dire need of water ride.

Refurbishment... Indiana Jones was one of the first attractions to be refurbished as part of the Experience Enhancement Plan, they are starting to work their way around again now that Disneyland Park is just about complete.
Just seems an excessive amount of time given the ride had huge refurbishment replacing the track and scenery just a year ago.

Where did you get that rumour from? How do we know it's a somewhat credible rumour?
Moana Splash Mountain for Adventureland has been a rumour for a while. Though it has seemingly been rejected and replaced with a clone of Indiana Jones Adventure instead. I'm hoping it is moved to Frontierland and themed to Pocahontas or something. Disneyland Paris needs a water ride bad now that summer is getting hotter and hotter year after year now.

I honestly feel like Moana does not fit into Adventureland, I really hope they go with the Indiana Jones ride...or a Jungle Book Cruise.

When it comes to Frontierland, I hope the rumours are true and they will go with a Pocahontas themed Splash ride. Disneyland Paris needs more unique rides and there are no Pocahontas rides at any of the other parks (She happens to be my favorite Disney princess haha).
Although a River Rapids ride themed to Grand Canyon with Dinosaurs and such would be spectacular...that will never happen I feel like.
