Magic Skyway and Epcot Center?

DO you think that the influence for most of EC's original attractions came from the magic Skyway. IMO its like WDI sat and watched a video of MS and came up with most of the pavilions for EC.

1. You have the beginning with the Dinosaurs and the begining of UOE.
2. The cave painting scene and traveling through time in MS and SSE.
3. A ton of WOM seems to be taken directly from MS.

I know that the 64 worlds fair is what EPCOT Center was modeled after but do you think that a majority of the inspiration came from The Magic Skyway?

Absolutely -- a huge inspiration for sure. So were other attractions that were not from Disney such as Futurama (I and II). But Magic Skyway for sure has elements that were incorporated into multiple attractions. A shame there seems to be almost no video of its interior.

Luckily we still have the Primeval World diorama in Disneyland as part of the train ride -- a great piece of nostalgia that's often overlooked by guests who don't take the time to relax for a few on the grand circle tour! :)

Agreed it was one of the higlights of my trip to DL. I just listened to the Audio and the connections were crazy.

A little, yes. A lot? No.

There are nods to it - the UOE Diorama, the feel of parts of WOM, or you could go all the way and say every Omnimover was inspired by it too.

Magic Skyway FOR THE WIN! :sohappy: I have the recording on my iPod.

Such a cool show. Narrated by Walt, huge in scope, SSE, UoE and WoM combined. (I've been hunting more info on it too.)

I'd LOVE to see a "newer" version resurrected somehow. Such a cool concept.

Like Martin said, video's hard to come by on this since it's so old. There are some pretty great photo collections though on Youtube -- check 'em out:

Ooooh! Awesome! :D
