We did the memory maker on our last trip and it seemed like there were more photopass photographers doing magic shots. Do all the photopass photographers have the ability to do them or is it limited in some way(s)?

Any time I see this topic, my mind somehow goes to alcohol... I think I've done some Magic Shots at La Cava Del Tequila in the Mexico Pavillion

Only certain photographers will do specific character magic shots though and it depends on what park you're in at the time. For instance if you cross the bridge from the hub to Tomorrowland the photographer there has Olaf as an option - "look cold" he says in 90 degree heat...If you get a photo taken outside Be Our Guest then you'll Lumiere. Most of the Main Street ones will do Tinkerbell. Animal Kingdom has baby Simba, and we got Mickey Balloons in front of Spaceship Earth in Epcot.
Just ask them what they have, and they'll give you the options.

I don't think the Simba one is available anymore. I saw a list of all of the currant and former magic shots they do, and Simba was on the discontinued list. I don't know how up-to-date or accurate it is, but it looks pretty good..

I didn't know about Olaf & Lumiere - so cute! Can't wait to try those on our next trip! We've asked some photographers for magic shots in the past, and some have said they weren't able to do them. And others were able to do them, no problem. So I always thought some could do them and some couldn't, but it's been a few years since I asked.

So who actually does the Photoshop? I can't imagine that the photographer himself does the work on the scene, perhaps beyond tagging photographs for further attention. Do the photographers drop the .PNGs in later at their desks, or is the work of editing in the cartons done by someone else; outsourced to India, perhaps?
or the one with the balloons from up...since you're starting a new adventure?
My granddaughter asked about magic shots each time we stopped for a photopass pic. When I was going through them I realized they'd had us pose for two that they never put the "magic" into and we look soooo stupid so I'm sure someone other than the photographer is adding them in but they do push something on their little scanner when they're doing them we've noticed.
