We didn't lug it onto the ship. Sorry if that was the impression I gave. The way it worked for us was this: After landing at the airport, we went to the baggage carousel and retrieved our bags, just like we would do after any non-Disney-related flight. Once we had all of our luggage, we looked for a Cast Member. They're almost always very easy to find, they wear the big Mickey gloves so you can recognize them. We then went with our luggage to the place where the shuttle was picking us up. We then turned over our luggage to the Disney baggage handlers. The next time we saw the bags was when they arrived at our stateroom.
You know what? I don't remember exactly! LOL. Sorry. But I think that the way it worked for us was that we left the luggage outside our door, but had to pick it up to bring it through customs. Then when we got the transport, we turned it over to the bus/van driver, but had to check the bags in at the airport ourselves. I think!
