My sister is going down with her band and participate in the Magic Music Day program. She is an annual passholder. The band director explained that the program included a 4 day park hopper pass. Since my sister is an annual passholder, does she still have to purchase the 4 day hopper? I was wondering if anyone knew any information on this. I know I have seen a lot of people on the boards who have participated this program. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks :)

Well when I was in High School I travled with the band down to disney on 2 ocasions. To anwser your question about the park hopper pass your sister would have to ask the person making the travle arrangements. My HS band whent trough a outside travle agent not through Disney. I would assume that the situation for your sister is the same. I believe that the only hand that Disney has in the whole trip would be giving you a stage and not arresting you for performing with out permission. Hope that helps out.

I also believe the package that your group uses is not directly from Disney, but a travel agent, and these packages can vary greatly. We went with a dance group (about 25 dancers and their families, about 100 people total). There was one dancer who was actually moving to Orlando and coordinated their move with our performance, so she didn't need the hotel etc that was included in our package. The dance teacher made arrangements for her to purchase only her park tickets. So I guess that you would have to ask the band teacher (or whoever is coordinating the trip with the travel agent) if they can make a package for her that does not include park tickets, at a reduced cost.

We went with our daughter's band last year. Our youngest did not need the Disney ticket, but the agent arranging our school's trip did everything as an all-inclusive package. We only needed the plane ticket for the little one. We worked it out, but it was a bit of a pain to co-ordinate on my own. My advice is to talk to the person in charge of arrangements at the school ASAP. The package deals are almost always no refund. Our school even discovered that someone who had paid in full and then was unable to go could not transfer the money/package to a student who hadn't raised enough money - just lost it all ! You need to find out who the travel agent is and start there. Good luck !!

Just an idea. Would it be possible for your sister to use her ap and save the hopper for future use? Normal tickets never expire, but do package tickets like these? You may want to find that out too. If those tickets never expire, maybe they can give you the hoppers that you will have already paid for to use later. I went with school in 8th grade, but it's been so long that I don't remember how the whole thing worked.

I believe that those tickets do expire after the last date of the MMD program. Also, I believe that it is "included" in the package, so they almost force you to buy it.

Our park tickets (included with the package) did have expiration dates, something like 2 weeks after our package date. Normally of course, tickets don't expire, but ours did have a short lifespan.

I am in this same situation. My daughter is going next April and she has an AP. I have emailed the travel agency as the teacher said she knew nothing.
I don't mind paying if the hopper pass does not expire. In the summer, we always bring a friend so the friend could buy it from me.

But I am guessing as the price includes motor coach and hotel, I probably can't elimiate paying for the hopper. The wierd thing is tho, is that the kids are NOT staying at disney hotel.
