"Magic Kingdon View" and room rates

Per the 2007 room rates on Mousesavers, there is now an entry for a MK view room separate from others. Fine - I'm sure this saves some headaches when doing room assignments for some properties.

However, let's say I want a Lagoon View at the Poly and want Tahiti. Will I get charged for the MK view room because of that (which is $30 more than a Lagoon view)?

Tahiti is a request - no one at Disney will gurantee it for you.

You can pay for lagoon view or MK view. All of Tahiti's rooms may be lagoon view or they may all be MK view. *shrug* I don't know, maybe someone else does, but you will have to pay for whatever the room is classified as, and the exact location is not determined by you, regardless of your request.

If you book a lagoon room then you will probably be placed in one of the other lagoon buildings. If those are all filled then they will send you over to Tahiti. Even with a request the odds are that you would be in Fiji or something along those lines instead of Tahiti since they will save those rooms for people who pay the extra price to see the MK.

Thanks, Insider, that makes sense. Just wasn't looking at it the right way, I guess. Since we normally do concierge, this was never an issue but the last couple of times Hawaii hasn't been that great (not like it was in the late 90's and before 2004). So looking at some options - but you can't beat staring out your lanai and seeing the castle change colors at night.

Tahiti, Tuvalu and Aotearoa all have lagoon view, Magic Kingdom view and garden view rooms. If you pay for a lagoon view room you will be in one of those longhouses. I have maps of the buildings and which rooms are lagoon view and which are MK view rooms on my web pages.

Just go to the page for that longhouse. You can request Tahiti if you have a lagoon view room but you are not guaranteed to get it. Tahiti will be closed from the end of July until October or possibly November.

If you pay extra for a MK view room you are guaranteed a direct unobstructed view of the Castle. If you get a lagoon view room you will still be facing the castle but your view might be partially blocked. There are some lagoon view rooms that have a very nice view of the castle but no guarantees.
