Magic Kingdom - why are they closing so early

What's everyone so up in arms about? Doesn't it make total sense to everyone that they are having MNSSHP in August? How could that be a cash grab...I mean, I know when it's close to 100 degrees and school is just getting started back I'm thinking about Halloween. In all seriousness, I do hope it affects the business slightly, and they adjust it next year. As a local, it affects me one way. For a family trying to plan a trip, it is just downright inconsiderate of your base. "Hey the park is dirtier, hey the hours are reduced already, and by the way, you will have to leave the park or pay another day's price to stick around and see the parade and fireworks on part of your trip. Have a magical day." Part of me thinks it would be wise of them to remember what has made their fan base so loyal and cater to them a bit.

I wasn't even a little bit condescending. Just honest. If it isn't common knowledge that party guests are allowed to enter at 4 pm then where did all of that hoard of people that ruined your day come from? You think they just took a chance and tried their luck at entering the park early? No they did a little research. But like I said it's a lot easier just to complain after the fact.
This is not common knowledge.

The Disney World website explains the parties as separate after-hours events needing a separate event ticket. It is natural to assume that the ticket grants admission to the park at or near 7pm (when the park closes) for the after-hours event which starts at 7. Nowhere on the website could I find an explanation that the ticket to the 7pm event actually grants admission to the park at 4. I assume this lack of information is deliberate since it would be very easy to clearly explain how the ticket actually works.

People should be able to rely on the information provided by Walt Disney World as being sufficient. They shouldn't need to go to sites like this and do extra research to learn that the party tickets are good a full three hours before the party/park closing.

I thought the Halloween party in August was a mistake until I looked at the website. Unbelievable. "Cash grab" doesn't begin to describe it. Nearly 40% of the days in September guests have to shell out an extra $74-88 to stay in the Magic Kingdom past 7. Unbelievable.

This is so unfair! I'm going back to Disney on November too after 7 years and 2 years of savings. My first park was going to be Magic Kingdom and my last one too! Both dates closes at 6pm.
That stinks, but you'll just have to rework your schedule, unfortunately, even though you probably spent months planning on your original dates.

Yeah :( unfortunately I'll have to change everything. I realized the last day we always leave early to prepare the suitcase for going back to Argentina the next day. But I wanted to go to MK on my first park day! haha

Is there a way to contact Disney about this? It's still unfair paying 500 USD for having 4 hours less of park.

I don't think there is a whole lot you can do but I would urge you to call them and see what they can do for you. Sometimes, if the Cast Member is having a good day, they will either refund you 1 day's worth of tickets or offer you something for your inconvenience.

Was thinking about going to Guest Relations once I entered the park

Just go to MK on another day when the park is open later. They usually have a couple days where they stay open later then normal when they have the parties going on. But they don't charge you extra because they stay open later. I don't see this as an issue. As long as you can get most of what you want done during the trip then the order should not matter.
