Probably wont happen till the 50th at this point, a decade to go almost :brick: . Saw the current one the other day again with its 3 or 4 floats left and that was it. Pretty bad. Kudos to the cast though for giving it all they got. I wish Staggs would kick TDO's rump a bit more, but hes probably not even aware of the stale entertainment issues.

Actually, I heard that in 2012 we'll get the Dreaming a Dream Come True Parade.
That sucks that no new Parade is being planned for next year. This really is becoming a bit of a joke now. Was something being planned for next year that's fell though or something. Since I recall someone mentioning something on this board a few months back. And the latest Birnbaum Guide suggested that Celebrate could be changed in 2012.
I sadly wouldn't be surprised....

Yes at one point there was one in the works, it was to be called Festival of Fantasy so the rumor went, but it all fell through. The celebrate thing was recently changed up a little bit, (not nearly enough tho).

Geez I'm sorry isn't this atleast the second time a new parade for MK has fallen through? First we were suppose to get Parade of Dreams from DL but wasn't it something stupid like TDO didn't want to have to make changes to the float storage area in order to accomadate the tall floats? Now this has happened for a second time. I really thought surely after ten years there would be a new parade at MK...atleast change it back to DDCT version of the parade, that was better than the current version. The only good part about the current version is that the Tremaines get to be in the parade.

No, it's because most of the PoD floats had been damaged beyond repair. That's way.

I would imagine, unless TDO scrapped the current floats of CDCT. It would be nearly impossible to store the parade floats of Parade of Dreams. With the MK storing CDCT, Spectro, Elec Parade, & Xmas Floats, there would be trouble finding space for a whole new parade.
Wow.... It's been running for a quarter of the time that the park has been open. I never thought of it that way....
Yeah it's time for a new one. Actually it was time for a new one years ago. I'd say a new parade is in development SOMEWHERE down the line. Surely there must be someone in the entertainment department at leasting bouncing a few ideas around for a new parade. It may not happen, but it must be at least thought about every now and then and maybe brought up in meetings or however it is they decide to change entertainment in the parks. That means they must have some legitimate (in their opinion) reason not to make a new parade. Maybe it's money, they want the money to go into other projects. Or it could be that they don't think that changing the parade is as necessary as in previous years, after all, rides exist for decades. I'm not saying I agree with this (I don't) but it could very easily be their logic.

The solution is to throw up a new back-of-house parade barn in a couple of months. Easy, cheap, and the design and construction can even be contracted out to an outside company within a week or two.
When the Electrical Parade was brought back from the dead in July, 2001 to help a struggling DCA its first summer, they didn't have a place to put it. There was only one DCA parade warehouse built in that cheap park. But once they figured out they were keeping the Electrical Parade for awhile by late 2001, they spent the winter of 2002 building a new parade barn behind California Screamin'. The whole thing took a couple of months, and was greenlit very quickly.
They even removed some of the Timon parking lot to do it, and they really shoehorned it in there, but they got it done very quickly. It is still there to this day, used for float storage and reportedly for World of Color equipment.
Just because something doesn't currently exist, or hasn't been needed in the past, doesn't mean it can't be built. Especially something as basic as a small warehouse with very simple materials.
I wouldn't mind them totally scrapping the current CDCT, and be paradeless until about summer, Disneyland went WITHOUT any real parade half of 2011 (Pixar wasnt running because of construction). So if the entire resort can go that long, I think Magic Kingdom could scarfice the 3pm parade to remake a brand new parade. (we atleast have MSEP so they couldn't say there wasn't a parade for the park)
