Been there and done that, both photo and video. Once trip I shot 5500 photos at 10mb each...

Does anyone else love when a video takes up 22gb on your hard drive....

My raw files folder just of photos and my camcorder work is alone 500gb.I was going to say 22gb of video isn't that much. I have 300+ gb of raw video footage just from doing interviews. I can fill 30 gigs pretty fast with just a GoPro.
I watched a bit of the WDW live steam and the quality looked like it was coming from security cameras.
now imagine if you had a Nikon D810 (approximately 80Mb per image)Been there and done that, both photo and video. Once trip I shot 5500 photos at 10mb each...

It was coming from a hefty broadcast level camera.I was going to say 22gb of video isn't that much. I have 300+ gb of raw video footage just from doing interviews. I can fill 30 gigs pretty fast with just a GoPro.

I saw this on facebook:
The caption said, "live webcam guy is dead. lol" so maybe sitting there staring at the same patch of ground for hours is why the angle isn't great. lol

which is kinda funny in the end.. because the quality was so degraded.. makes you wonder.."why do it?"It was coming from a hefty broadcast level camera.
That stream was the night before the 24 hour event and was grainy due to so many people watching that it could not handle it so had to lower the quality.I'm getting my streams mixed up. There was a stream a few weeks back, before the 24 hour event, that I'm remembering. It was for Disneyland's debut of new nighttime entertainment. The stream was insanely grainy and over exposed on several camera angles.
which is kinda funny in the end.. because the quality was so degraded.. makes you wonder.."why do it?"

not to mention the CMOS on that camera is set for proper lighting conditions, not low light - which will be grainy anywayThe camera that appears in that image that we shared looks to be a Canon XL-H1.
It's all about the encoding and the bitrate. Disney was broadcasting at Youtube's recommended but rate of 2500 Kbps (2.5mbps). The max bitrate that Youtube does allow for 720p@30 is 4000 Kbps (4mbps). It also depends how youtube encodes the video aswell (Which for those at home keeping score is H.264, L4.1, CBR with CABAC). As wikipedia notes "CABAC is notable for providing much better compression than most other entropy encoding algorithms used in video encoding, and it is one of the key elements that provides the H.264/AVC encoding scheme with better compression capability than its predecessors." But also notes it uses more processing power. Level 4.1 has higher hardware compatibility.
