Magic Kingdom in Morning then Hollywood Studios in evening?

We have the Fantasmic Dinner Package set for 3:30. We are taking our 2yr old daughter (almost 3). We also have a full day planned at Magic Kingdom on another day.

We don't think our daughter will like a lot of the shows/rides at Hollywood Studios. Would it be a bad idea to go to Magic Kingdom in the morning at rope drop to ride stuff our daughter will like till about noon or so, catch the bus to Hollywood Studios, go to dinner at 3:30, use our three fastpasses before and/or after the dinner, hopefully see another show/ride, then see Fantasmic?

The things at Hollywood we think our daughter would like are the frozen sing along, Disney Jr show, and then either beauty and beasts or little mermaid show.

You'd be surprised how much time you can eat up at Hollywood studios. I'd plan on doing Little mermaid, Disney JR and Beauty & the Beast before your dinner. Don't try to do Beauty & the Beast after dinner as you will likely only be able to catch the last show of the day which is always a madhouse because everyone has the great idea that that can do that then go directly to Fantasmic afterwards. Little mermaid and Disney JR have to be done earlier in the day because they shut down earlier than park close. You will have to check the schedule to know exactly when the last shows are. Also don't forget about The Great Movie Ride. You might enjoy it more than your daughter but it's a decent break from the hot sun and it's a great attraction.

Frozen is something I'd do after lunch as the line for the show tends to be shorter in the afternoon and a Fastpass is not at all necessary. The same goes for Muppets 3D.

If you can get fast passes for mermaid, GMR and BaTB the rest of the day should fall together nicely. Just plan on being in Studios by noonish to get to everything you want to.

The great movie ride doesn't appeal to the wife nor I and I feel my daughter would just be bored making for a bad experience overall. We did really enjoy the ride when we rode it years ago.

We are also now looking into trying to get to epoxy an hour or so before rope drop to ride Frozen Ever After and meet elsa and anna and then head to Hollywood Studios around lunch. We are off resort guests and it doesn't seem like we will get fastpasses for frozen ever after.

Epoxy is the exact opposite of Epcot you should really go there!

My advice would be to only go to Hollywood Studios, arriving around noon. Not to trying to give parenting how to's, obviously you know your daughter, but a later start may be nice that day. Maybe relax for a bit before heading to the park. I've had my own kid fall asleep before a nighttime show..especially on very long park days.

I'll try that next time! I shook..I begged..I loaded him up with sugar..I shook him some more.. still slept :( lol

To be honest last year Mrs Merg wanted to see Fantasmic and I was exhausted. Sitting waiting for it to start I started to nod off, she was so embarrassed she went and bought me some ice cream or similar as she knew that would stop me dozing. I'm 48 and she still treats me like I'm 3, it worked though :)

Ha ha! The end result is all that matters! :)

Toy Story Mania is so much fun. Wouldn't she like that? My 2 year olds always loved it even if they scored low...they didn't know they didn't do great. There are character meets for Disney Jr characters right by the Disney Jr show, also. The characters tend to be a lot of fun and they are the ones a 2 year old would know from watching the shows. Also the Buzz and Woody meet at Hollywood has always been great for us. Buzz and Woody go out of their way to be really fun and exciting and we always get crazy adorable photos there. Olaf is a meet and greet too. Even if she doesn't really know Muppets, the show is cute and my children have always liked it even when they didn't get the humor etc. It was entertaining enough to keep their attention etc.

So we love Hollywood and always do more than one full day there...actually 2 full days and in the past would do extra magic evenings there or a 1/2 day on the day we arrived or left in addition to the full days. I have 8 children so children of all ages and my 2 year olds always had a great time. I feel you could totally do a full day there easily and she would be happy and entertained the whole time. You and your husband could even do a couple things just for you with child swap like the bigger rides. Also, things that you might feel wouldn't really be interesting to her, like Indiana Jones, really are magical and amazing in the little eyes of a two year old...explosions, airplanes etc. She could be glued to it in amazement. The biggest challenge of Hollywodd is to go with a plan because in order to really fit all the shows in you have to know when they are playing and have them scheduled and lined up so that you can catch them all.

If you've never done the Fantasmic dinner package before then know upfront that it is one of the biggest wastes when it comes to dinner packages. You get what the call "premium" seating which although generally in the center of the area doesn't mean you will be that close to the front, if you don't get there very early for when they let in you could very well find yourself way towards the back depending on the crowd levels. You can get seats pretty much as good or better in the general admission line. Not trying to tell you not to do the package but given you have an odd time I'm guessing you just took the only option you could get not really the time you would normally want... So don't think you have to do the package to get a decent view of the show you don't. We have done the package one time, see Fantasmic more times than I would like to have seen it and the package seats were not the best we ever had, nor the worst just somewhere in the middle.

You daughter will probably like the Little Mermaid, but the Beauty and the Beast may be a little boring for a 3 year old.
