No you don't. If they extend the hours it means that the crowds were heavier than they expected.

How do they alert the people in the park that the hours have been extended?

This happened to me in March of 09. There was a park wide announcement that we couldn't really hear from the outdoor queue of Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. We then noticed Fastpass distribution going beyond what we knew as the park hours, so we asked a cast member and they said the hours had been extended.

It happened one time at mgm I think last year. People were running trying to be the last group in the toy story line when the cast members said don't worry about it you have another hour. It wasn't announced over the speaker or anything, but I think cast members informed people properly about it.

There are usually 2 showings everynight regardless atleast for June , even if park closing is 10pm

It was last year in March I believe. It was a few weeks or a week before the "official" spring break time and they weren't expecting crowds so they decided to extend the hours. The same trip, I was expecting them to do the same at the MK, but they didn't for some reason. When I went to guest relation to ask about it I got 3 fastpass for the next day.

Those that brave the crowds over crowds and stay for Extra Magic Hours get to stay in the MK til 3am.

Sure, the crowds are INSANE, and you're dead-tired well before 3am rolls around, but it's absolutely amazing to stay in the MK that late...

I hope they extend some hours next week! I'll be there and I am kinda bummed to be missing the really late nights at MK. We check out friday.

If you are at another park, do they still announce it? Because if I were at another park that was closing earlier I would wanna know so I can ParkHop to the late night park.
