Magic Kingdom Hours Extended Friday July 5th

Great- once we leave Epcot - we can head over to MK and I can get a hot dog and dole whip. Is there emhs that night? I am hoping not.

I don't understand these "extended hours". MK just needs to close at midnight regardless during these "very busy summer seasons"!

The parks should be open to midnight (or maybe 1am) during the summer months. Not 2-3am. When they then have to turn around and open at 9am. I think they overblew the hours for way too long. Slow season the park should close at 9 or 10, moderate season 10 or 11 and peak times 11 or 12. Which they do, I don't always keep up with the operating hours, lol.
They seem to want to do away with EMH for the most part anyway. I took advantage of them a few times and quite liked it but to me, having the extended hours for so long helped do away with a lot of necessary maintenance (that and just a lack of interest in maintenance apparently). And besides, was it really worth it for the man hours that they're so concerned about? Close the parks at a normal time, maintenance the park like it should be .... of course it's not that simple and again, I don't claim to know how that all truly works behind the scenes.
JMO. They could also do it where if you stay at any Disney resort you automatically get that extra hour from 8am to 9am and an extra hour or two at night from 10-12 all of the time. That would be an incentive. Oh, wait, why do that when they can just jack up the prices and cut the offerings? Heh.

Is this confirmed? I have read multiple posts (prior to the start though) that the perimeter would only be shown July 3 and 4th. If it is being shown all week - hopefully the crowds will disperse more on the 4th.
Also, while I am happy it will be show on the 5th and 6th - I would much rather see Wishes but oh well
