Magic Kingdom Christmas Tree to be in place Dec 6

A month after the rest of the decorations were up.....and nearly a month after they started charging for MVMCP tickets.

I believe that they have to wait until after they tape the Christmas parade.

They don't HAVE to. They CHOOSE to. Until about 5 years ago, they put the tree up for the entire holiday season (this sometimes involved moving the tree to one place or another, but it was in the park from early November on).

Also there's no reason that they have to have the Christmas parade hosts be located in Town Square where the tree usually is...they use to have them in different locations that didn't affect the location of the tree at all.

Nothing like paying $60/person for a Christmas party without a tree!
Up until 2008 (I believe--maybe '07), the tree started in the Rose Garden area and was moved to Town Square after the parade filming.

So just to make sure I am clear. There are absolutely no Christmas Trees in the MK until after the Christmas Parade taping?

The parade was live (on Christmas Day) until around 2006 (maybe a year off). Not sure if they moved it around when the parade was live. But it would have made sense to move it to the Rose Garden for Christmas Day, and then back. After the parade started being taped, though, early in December, it makes sense that it would start in the Rose Garden like you said, then simply be moved.
They are only talking about the big Christmas tree that usually stands in the center of Town Square (but would clearly block a camera view of Main Street, USA, facing the castle). Not sure if there are other Christmas trees in MK! (Hmmm, making me think!)

There are a handful of small (like 6-8 foot tall) trees around the park in restaurants and shops, and a few other locations. There are a couple also where the big tree would normally go in the hub, as well as near Santa's area next to town hall. But these are like trees you would put in your house, not a centerpiece tree you would put up in the highest attended theme park in the world (supposedly).
But in recent years there is no large (50 - 60 ft tall), lighted display tree until after the parade taping.

It doesn't matter - the MK tree is ugly with ornamnets that are more outdated than the daytime parade the park runs. For a real Disney Park tree let me present the one for DL Park:

I know, the MK's tree is pretty pathetic looking regardless. Cheap looking plastic ornaments they've been using for years, and they are sparse. DL's tree just looks incredible, and the fiber optic lighting makes it look even better.
It's almost like they don't even bother to try in WDW anymore. I thought the "One Disney" concept was supposed to standardize operations across the resorts, but that has clearly not happened, save for merchandise bags and napkins.

Disneyland's tree, which is displayed from the start of Disneyland's NO-UPCHARGE Christmas season until the conclusion of Disneyland's NO-UPCHARGE Christmas season, absolutely trounces the Magic Kingdom's Christmas tree. The LED lighting that is illuminated during the three-Act Wintertime Enchantment is icing on the cake.
To be fair, Magic Kingdom's Christmas parade and fireworks are more spectacular, but "it's a small world" holiday and Haunted Mansion Holiday make the rest of Magic Kingdom's offerings pale in comparison. Especially given that one of the two up-charges $60 for much less.

Have you seen them both in person?
1) Disneyland's tree isn't illuminated in LED lights until after the fireworks. So for most of the night, it's not lit like that.
2) It may photograph like a "ball of lights," but in person, it certainly doesn't look like one.
Disneyland's tree is elegant and modern-looking. Many trees at Walt Disney World are similarly beautiful (the resort trees come to mind), so it's surprising to me that the Magic Kingdom's looks so dated.
