hey, we might to Magic Kingdom on christmas day. I heard that on Christmas day they close the park because of full capicity. Is this true? If so what time should we arrivie?
we will be staying at the Coronado Springs, not a passholder
Closing park admission to Disney Resort guests is one of the last closure levels they would implement ~ and then it is usually temporary for an hour or two. They will close the parking lot first, then close admission to (off-site) day guests, then finally for resort guests.
You will be fine getting there in the first hour or two of opening. Rarely do they begin the additional phases of closure before noon. As others have said though, it will be crowded. You just have to account for the things associated with large crowds and go with the flow (long lines everyhwere, very late/sold out Fastpass, full buses, people everywhere, etc.). You'll enjoy it much more that way.
One warning: If you are a "theme park commando" and are heck bent on doing/seeing everything that park offers, you will be disappointed during these very crowded times.
I still can not grasp why people want to go to the Magic Kingdom on Christmas day knowing that it will fill to capacity. What is the draw that I'm missing? Hey kids, want to spend a lot of money to stand around. I heard they have a new ride called "The line". Maybe I'll go one year and see what the hype is about. We used to go early December and I couldn't believe they stopped doing the daytime Christmas parade and only had it for the Very Merry nightime party. Either way, enjoy.
