At least when I worked front line, management had to inform the affected cast no later than two hours before the end of their shift. Generally, it would only be an hour, resulting from more guests than expected in the park that day.Typically in the past, cast would just be told they are being extended. The news could come as late as a couple of hours before.
Now I would imagine that since they have already announced the 4:30pm close, they can save labour costs and leave it at that.
Edit/Update: In looking at the latest union contract, apparently it's only 30 minutes now. I'll reserve my comments on that for a more relevant thread topic.
