Magic hours....

OK...so we are trying to plan our days at disney during our stay and I cannot seem to find how long evening magic hours extend. I know the morning hours are one-hour before regular opening BUT everwhere I look for evening hours it says up-to three hours after regular park closing. Is there anywhere to find out how long that park will be open after regular closing?

We roll into town on Sept 17th and should be settled and ready to rock by 2:00 or so and I was thinking AK would be great as the TouringPlans.com website suggests it will not take but a half day or so to do the park and if there were enough MH to take it in then that might be a good move.

Suggestions are welcomed and appreciated. Thanks for looking.

First page - the calendar. This gives you a day by day schedule of park opening and closing times, it also gives times for parades and fireworks etc and lets you know when the EMH days are . The EMH are then added onto the evening closing time posted (posted time is closing time for non-resort guests). In the case of morning EMH - park opening is an hour before the posted time

Second page - the list. This just gives a list of when each park has its morning and evening EMHs

It's called GOOGLE.

Seriously, how can people NOT find this information on their own?? This topic comes up almost weekly. Either do a search on this site or GOOGLE it.

OK so take a look at September 18th for instance...the first page does not show MK magic hours for that date but the second page does. I guess my point is which page do I follow for the best info AND does the calendar (second) page reflect the actual hours including magic hours b/c it shows 9AM-11PM on almost all other dates for the month as well as the ones with magic hours.

Again sorry to be so confused :hammer:on this one but I want to get our planning right the first time instead of having to re-evaluate when we get on-site.

Sorry to be such a bother to you!!! I got the link to the disney schedule ON THIS site and looked at the pages directly on disney's site. Take a pill and go to the next topic if this is so bothersome to you. Thanks for your help.

EMH are never reflected in the posted park hours [it would confuse people staying off-site]. So if it says 9AM-11PM and evening EMH, the park will close at 11PM for people not staying in a resort and 2AM for those that are.

The reason the lists may not jive is they do change EMH from time to time, all pages are not updated simultaneously [or sometimes at all ] by Disney. Just keep an eye on them, the closer you get to your vacation, the more accurate they're likely to be.

It does - MK park hours 9am>9pm and EMH. The second page confirms this showing that MK has a.m. EMH on Sept 18th.

I don't know where you're looking :veryconfu

Are you def looking at September ??

You are NO bother at all! Some people just can't be allowed to mix in polite company.

It is simple to those of us who are used to dealing with it, but can look a bit complicated to some. Glad you have it all figured out and I hope you enjoy your trip. If you get a chance to go to AK during evening EMH jump at it. The park has such a different ambiance at night and the lines for the good stuff are shorter. :lookaroun
AK is much more than a half day park, it can take hours to travel all of those little trails and take in the sites. Add in the shows and rides...

September 2008

Morning Extra Magic Hours
Magic Kingdom - 4, 11, 18, 25
Epcot - 2, 9, 16, 23, 30
Disney's Hollywood Studios - 6, 13, 20, 27
Animal Kingdom - 1, 8, 15, 22, 29

Evening Extra Magic Hours
Magic Kingdom - 7, 14, 21, 29
Epcot - 5, 12, 19, 26
Disney's Hollywood Studios - 1, 8, 15, 22, 28
Animal Kingdom - 3, 10, 17, 24

Morning EMH = one hour earlier than stated opening. Evening EMH = 3 hours after closing. The up to is added because some things close earlier.

I realize what happened...when I navigated away from the page it was on September but when I clicked off and went back it was back to July without realizing it.

Maybe we will still cruise over to AK first and then back for another half day later in the week if we want to. We missed it on our last trip and want to see it first thing this time.

Isn't this supposed to be a community to discuss disney and help people plan their trips?

To the OP, your question has been answered by others but I just wanted to point out that you should be free to ask these questions. EMH can seem pretty confusing (especially as they aren't that easy to read on the website) but it's all clear when you get there.

Definatly make time for the Animal Kingdom. Whilst you can get round the whole park in half a day, that's not really enough time to appreciate it. It's a beautiful and very well themed park and taking the time to see it all is worth it - especially if it's your first time visiting it.

It is - but some just consider themselves more knowledgable than others, are unwilling to help and look down their noses on those that do require help

Those kind of people have a name......they're called a$$holes. EMH usually are an hour earlier in the morning and the nighttime ones run up to 3 hours after park closing. I think in summer they tend to run later (3 hours).
