I put them in the microwave in a covered bowl with a very small amount of water and cook them for about 10 minutes. About 8 minutes if they're very little.
I steam them on the stove for 8 - 10 minutes depending on how big they are, then serve them with butter, lemon-butter, or (for my Swamp Yankee family), vinegar and salt.

They are really yummy - I just don't like to have them very often.

Must try the vinegar and salt! Sounds yum!

I do have them often. Had them yesterday, in fact. And they were a most perfect bunch! Very large and a very bright green. Perfectly wonderful!

Good evening, Stephie!
Asher still working on his crawl?
Yup. Poor guy I feel bad for him. I ended up getting him a walker. I know they're sort of a no-no, but we have the perfect space for it here on the main floor. Hard wood floors and a big open area for him to explore. It seems to have brightened his spirits anyway :)

The boy craves mobility! As long as you have a safe space for it, I say use the walker and let him enjoy!

Swamp Yankee is a colloquialism that has a variety of meanings. Generally, it refers to Yankees or WASPs (northeasterners with colonial ancestry) from rural Rhode Island and nearby eastern Connecticut and southeastern Massachusetts. The term "Yankee" connotes urbane industriousness, while the term "Swamp Yankee" signifies a more countrified, stubborn, independent and less refined subtype.

Northerners with Red Necks, basically - aka my gene pool

We used a walker for both kids. As long as you don't have stairs involved, they're a reall blessing!

Well boys and girls, it's been quite a day, so I'm going to hit the hay. Thanks again for all the kind words. Love you all!
