Magic band question

Not sure where to post but my family and I are heading to WDW in Feb. We can sign up now for the Magic Bands but only the basic colors are on the Disney Experience website. Where and how do I get those cool looking ones I have seen? I.E. The Frozen, Marvel and Haunted Mansion ones?

You buy in the parks. Their may also be a few locations outside of the parks on property.

Correct. So far, any specially themed or limited edition band must be activated and tied to a My Disney Experience account at the time of purchase. They're only available for sale on property.

For now, only the default colors may be ordered through the website.

OK, a side question (that may have been answered in the almost 1,400 discussions here). My g/f has no clue were going, and I ordered her a standard pink one. I have an itchy feeling though, that if she sees one of the special ones when we get there, she'll want it. Can her current band be "transferred" to a new one so she can use it there?

Yes you link the new band immediately to MDE and you are good to go!

You can buy 50 new bands, and as long as they're linked to an MDE account (which special edition ones have to be at the time of purchase), they'll work.

You have to upgrade the firmware.
