Magic Band Mayhem

Anyone going in early summer having issues with Magic Band delivery? I am sending daughter with friends and then joining later in the week at a different resort. My band arrived, but the kids still don't have theirs. They were all ordered at the same time. I went in today and it appears that one of the girls chose purple which is on "backorder" but when I changed it to yellow - it still isn't synced up. I contacted Disney via chat. No solution. The only colors available now "complimentary" are yellow, orange, lime, and gray. The rest are a charge. I truly hope this isn't a ploy to force people to pay for the bands. Any ideas?

When the custom bands went live on Monday 5/20 the response was overwhelming and the ran out of stock of many of the bands including some of the solid colors, they are restocking them as the become available, it's not a ploy they just way underestimated the response to the upgrade.

We will be at WDW the first two weeks of June.
Got our magic bands a few weeks ago, no problems.
My sister-in-law and my niece will be meeting us for 5 days, not on our reservations.
They received 2 sets of magic bands!
Nothing special, just the standard solid colors.
Don't know why.
Don't know if they contacted Disney to find out why.

I really think the response last week was not expected, what I found odd is they ran out of the solid colors not just the upgrade choices, I also find it odd that all the upgrade choice bands are still widely available on line and in the parks.

MDE says that they shipped - but I didn't get the email that I received when mine did. We are getting random colors. I guess we'll just be surprised when they arrive - if they arrive. Never had a problem before, but this go around has been more challenging.

Unless it's moved since the Bands first started, the personalized MB orders for hotel reservations ship from a facility in Tennessee. Their supply is separate from the packaged ones sold in the parks in Florida and shipped for online sales (also sent from Florida, I believe).

So a supply problem with the hotel orders is separate from the full price ones.

I understand it's separate but it seems like it should be fairly easy to get a stock of the packaged ones sent over to help out until more stock comes in, also I noticed my upgraded bands were shipped from Tampa Florida.

Thats the norm apparently. I did try calling the special line for custom bands and waited over 90 minutes. They told me a supervisor would look into it and let me know.

Also, my wife just told me they came with the coupons for mini-golf,ect and ONE luggage tag, and no magical express stuff.. I figure the tags and ME stuff would come later, but thats usually when you get the tags and coupons as well.

I got sick of waiting for the upgrades to come back into stock and only have 7 days left to order my bands. I went onto the Disney Parks app and scored two limited edition magic bands for $15 (It's a Small World and some emoji one) that are $30 each on ShopDisney and was not offered for the $10 upgrade. Apparently, the Disney Parks app is no longer working after May 31.

Update: We are now 8 days out.....no magic bands.....I have a confirmation from 2 weeks ago (after choosing what was available vs. what we originally ordered). The goal was to go straight to the room or straight to the parks, but now a front desk stop is necessary if they don't show up this week. Happy that others are getting theirs, but this is a bummer. We didn't go with anything fancy, just simple basic colors. We did get our ME stuff/luggage tags. So, at least that happened.
