So this is a quick review of FP+ (a full trip report will follow soon, but I'm not home from the World yet
)
Today was my 6th day testing out the MyMagic Bands and FP+. At first, I was extremely skeptical and didn't think I would like it. However, I may now be a convert. On the flip side, I'm not a huge fan of the band. My wrist sweats in this summer heat, and I feel like I should be wearing a watch (but I get annoyed every time I look at it and there is no clock!). I think the idea of "dressing" it up is preposterous, however I will say the gray bands are incredibly ugly (I have a pink one
).
Now for the things I like:
1. We are morning people. We get to the parks early, conquer them, and then go back to the hotel after lunch. We are never in the park late enough to get a FP for late afternoon/early evening when the lines are super long. With FP+, we are able to schedule some late afternoon times to ride before dinner.
2. The My Disney Experience App needs some serious work. However, there have been several times where we have changed the time of our scheduled attraction and we were given plenty of time selections. This totally may change when everyone is doing FP+, but it was very convenient to be able to skip the 60 min wait for Space Ranger Spin with a FP I booked this afternoon at my hotel.
3. We had a reservation for RnR, however the attraction was down when we went to ride it. We were sent an e-mail allowing us to use our reservation sometime later in the day or for any other FP+ attraction. We didn't test it, but the e-mail sounded like we had a so called "freebie" that could be used at any time that day in the Studios.
Obviously, this is still in testing phase and it shows. Certain rides we scan our bands, certain rides the bands aren't scanned. Some cast members check our names when they appear on the iPad, others don't seem to care. Overall, I've had a very pleasant experience testing it. Feel free to ask any questions and I will try to answer them!!
