This happened on my aunt's computer this weekend.
It's spy/adware...
Download the free Ad-aware from here: http://www.lavasoft.de/
I think it worked on my aunt's computer... but maybe it didn't...
If Ad-aware doesn't work, do a Norton AntiVirus scan of your computer. (make sure you have updated your virus definitions)
Norton will pick it up, and if it Norton can't delete it, there is a way to, you can get the directions from Symantec's website, as linked from the program itself.
You might have to backup your registry and start again in safe-mode. It's a complicated process if you can't get rid of it automatically via Ad-aware or Norton AV.
