Luggage Destroyed--Any Ideas?

My husband and I returned home from our honeymoon trip to WDW last week. We had taken our brand new 3 piece luggage with us. I literally tore the tags off to bag the bags. When we returned to our room at the end of our first night, Disney's Magical Express had dropped off our one checked bag--minus the wheel, carriage nad full of dents and nicks. It looked like it had gone through the wringer! Not to mention, that it had to be dragged on its one (loose) remaining wheel. US Airways will not assume responsibility bc it was not claimed in 4 hours in person--however, we did not even get to see our bag until much later, in our hotel room! They also are playing the blame game--how can we prove it was them and not Disney? Arrg. The luggage was not terribly expensive, but it was not cheap either (about $250 for the matching set). Any ideas how we can get someone to fess up?!?!?

it could have been the airport... have you seen what those bags go through sometimes... of course who knows what happened but it is one drawback from magical express.

I think that you have to swallow the cost on this one. Each side (airport, airline, Disney) has the ability to point their finger in another direction. Sorry.

Send a complaint to Disney Guest Services. It couldn't hurt and, who knows, they may do something for you.

Unfortunatley most likely the dammage was done at the airport and airlines pretty much don't take responsibility unless luggage is totally & completely destroyed. It wouldn't hurt to file a complaint with the airlines and/or ME if nothing else to voice your dissatisfaction.
