Low attendance at Universal theme parks
By Leah Zanolla
Oct 20, 2009

Universal Studios theme parks announced this morning that the third quarter was marked with a decline in attendance at their resorts in Orlando, California and Japan. Theme park operating profits were down 14 percent, but Universal was able to offset the declines with cost-cutting operational measures.

Universal Orlando saw attendance fall 14 percent from the same time a year ago, but the resort was still able to raise profits by 29 percent, mostly due to cutting the operating costs by 17 percent

I was at IoA for the first time a few weeks ago on a Thursday and is was DEAD. We walked on to just about everything, and the only thing we really waited for was the front row and Dueling Dragons.

We were astounded by the lack of guests.

That night we did HHN at Universal Studios however, and that was PACKED.

I know this sounds bad, but I hope it's dead in 3 weeks when I go. Crowds were NONexistent last December when I went.
