Look at the new iPod one day before it is released. Picture straight from MSNBC servers.

Every iPod looks the same however they changed it to not have seperate buttons on the top and instead used the click wheel that the mini uses. Also they made it smaller and thinner. Also they made it store more. (Great to have inside info)

isnt it going to be annoying to be trying to scroll and accidently hit the stop button or something...
seems like seperate buttons are better to me

The wheel is touch sensitive and your have to push someone hard to push the button. I have never had a problem with that.

I agree. Seems very easy to hit a button while scrolling. And just for aesthetics, I like my original design one better.
I have both the original and newer light up red buttonsand I must agree, I like my original design better. As for being overated, it's OK to feel inferior to a Mac user. LOL

HAHA. Yeah. I'm not a Mac user, but I looooooove my iPod. I can see how some people see it as just a trend and a status thing, but I love being able to have all of my favorite music with whenever I want. I plug it into my speakers here at work, put it on random, and have over 8 hours of all of my favorite tunes. Love it.

I assume the reason they are making them a bit smaller and what not is for the simple reason that in American culture, we seem to believe that the size of our gadgets is inversely proportional to the status they give us. Small cell phones means we're way cool. Smaller iPods means we're elite. Heck, some people even seem to think just owning these gadgets (in any size) puts them in the elite. And having the newest model of each product just makes them that much cooler.

The click wheel is the same one featured on the iPod Mini, plus they increased the battery life, reduced the price, made it slimmer, and hopefully, will include a 60 gig option.

Am I an employee of Apple? No, but I know people... :drevil:

Front what I have been told is that there will be a 60GB version. However it will not be released at this time. The 60GB version will be thicker then the newly released versions because the hard drives need a little more space and they also need to deal with the heat which is a little higher.

As for the changing the iPod to look more like the iPod Mini its based more on comments and suggestions that Apple receives. Some suggestions that they have had are make it smaller and make it last longer. The iPod Mini sales were so high when it was launched that it sold out partly because of the hard drive shortage. Partly based on that they want to make the iPod more like it.

And as for if I am a Apple employee. I decline to comment.
