I'll be there 23-25th, so I'll let you know how they are. Last year there were some in the park in that last week of Sept., but not too many.

This is the first im hearing about this at disney but up in NY ive seen it on occassion towards the end of the summer. Swarms of some sort of insects around the large halogen lights at the service station I used to work at, they would be there for a couple hours, then I would find them all dead on the ground. Im assuming it was the males left behind...

They must love you...:lol::lol: It just wasn't a plague like some people are thinking inside MK. It was more at Coronado though.

True. It wasn't as bad in the parks for some reason but it was still bad enough. Ewww We had more of an issue with them at DTD. Nasty little things. :(

Even though they are nasty, I'd rather have them than what we have around here. Mayflies. (Where's the puking smiley at??) These attractive things cover everything around here in the spring and fall.

And I don't care if you play Full Back for an NFL team, if one of those Mayflies land on you you're gonna run and scream like a 5 year old girl. We call them Devil Flies. :ROFLOL:

I just got bck today. I saw couples of them occassionally, but not swarms of 'em. Mostly at the Coronado Bus Stop #2.

They are there from the beginning of September through Mid October sometime, depending on how quickly it gets cooler in Florida. :>) Such Fun...:sohappy::wave:

Ive been around love bugs my whole life. they are completely harmless. RThey seam to fly around with no sense of direction (unlike a house fly that dances all around your head) They are a good sign where I grew up because when they arive the Knats leave.

Love bugs are appearing now in Orlando. There weren't too many yesterday but today I'm seeing them all over the place.

Aha, it's nice to see those little bugs are still annoying people.

My last visit to Disney World was in December 2006 when they seemed to be everywhere. I had arrived at the hotel fairly late in the evening so hadn't really seen any of them flying about, so I sure did get one giant shock when I went and visited the park the next morning. I was dressed all in white, which they appeared to love, and I spent half the day terrified thinking they were mosquitos trying to bite me.

The highlight of my holiday was running down Main Street USA screaming and flapping my arms around wildly on the first day of my trip. It took a few hours before some nice family informed me what they were and that they were harmless. I was very relieved, even if they were humping on me.
