I think all they would have to do I keep the same ride track and layout, modify the front of the cars to remove the dwarf names, and change all the scenery and AAs to Tangled theme. I don't think that would hav been that expensive to do...

This!! They should have, could have, but of course didnt.

I love the Villains and DS doesn't like the Princess, DH just humors us both. But we love Tangled it is the first princess we have liked, the film has it all, DS says Mother Gothel is the best villain as she plays with your mind. I think this film deserved way much more then a toilet, but who knew!!!

I totally agree that they should have built a Tangled-themed ride. The film was too popular not to merit an attraction. However, it shouldn't have "replaced" anything that already existed in Fantasyland, just as Snow White's Scary Adventures should not have been replaced! (Haters gonna hate, but I loved SWSA.) A Tangled coaster (or even a suspended dark ride like Peter Pan, where you'd swing around the rafters in Rapunzel's tower, fly out the window and follow her story as if you were her, pursued at times by Mother Gothel -- oh yeah, and the ride vehicles would actually imitate her hair and would GLOW when appropriate, and each would have as its figurehead Pascal, who would change color in each scene!), along with a Rapunzel meet-and-greet (a la Journey of the Little Mermaid and Ariel's grotto) would have been an equally-good-or-better use for the 7DMT space.

Notwithstanding my general loathing for substituting attractions instead of adding to them (et tu, Mr. Toad?), the only thing in the Magic Kingdom that needs replacing is Stitch, the only attraction I've ever seen at Disney that I thought was so terrible that it didn't merit the privilege of taking up any space in the Magic Kingdom.

I, like so many others, was deeply disappointed that SWSA became a M&G. Rapunzel is wildly popular right now, but Disney is historically very slow to add attractions on recent movies. Look how long it took them to add The a Little a Mermaid ride!
It really is The Little Mermaid all over again. They are missing the boat completely.

Aye! It took them twenty years to figure out Ariel was here to stay. Everybody loves her and her movie. I think Rapunzel is here to stay too. That movie just rocks, and Rap's looks are simply perfect. Merida is a good character but a poor movie, she'll be a c-princess in ten years time, but Rapunzel will be another Ariel or Belle.

I wish that instead of replacing rides, WDW would've considered, say, a Fantasyland expansion?

Can we pleeeassseee stop shortening the names, it's taking me ages to work out what rides you are all referring to :D

Yeah a tangled ride would be cool, but the Dwarves ride still looks great. Plus, Snow White is classic Disney, so it's nice to keep that alive in the park. Personally think they need to add a few things to Fantasy land though, was kind of a disappointment, even though it did look beautiful. so hopefully in the future....You never knowww.

My honest opinion? Disney has lost a LOT of opportunities for great rides. Rapunzel could have been a great ride. So could a ride through Scotland for Merida. So many Pixar films have just sat and sat. I want my monsters inc. coaster! (by the time they do it, if they do, no one will care!)

Tangled was a very blah film IMO. Probably the only reason Rapunzel is so popular is that she's the newest princess. Nothing more. And a Tangled ride would be a waste of space IMO.
