Hello all! I've been reading about the NextGen RFID FASTPASS but do not quite understand what it is if someone could explain that to me that would be great! Thanks!

FastPass Plus will enable you to book FastPasses in advance. Instead of checking individual tickets, the information will be encoded and verified through RFID. Some attractions that do not offer FastPass will offer FastPass Plus.

FastPass Plus is the NextGen component of FastPass where you book times in advance. It will likely require a Disney vacation package and/or an extra cost to utilize. It is expected to work with equipped smartphones and also new key cards that will be provided by Disney. This is what would be replaced by individual paper tickets, your smartphone or your Key to the World card.

True specifics are not currently available as Disney remains vague about their plans.

Everything new is done in phases. We have Common Core/Nextgen standards in school now K-12 in WV, and it's making some teachers panic! Don't worry, be happy! HAKUNA MATATA! No worries! Nextgen fastpasses are the wave of the future!

Just when we think we know it all, they come out with something new to make us perk up and take notice. I can see me now, strolling through the parks wondering, wheres all the FP machines, and my son whose so much more advanced than me in "this technology stuff" will shake his head an say... just follow me dad.
